A Royal Day in Bali. When the Magic Kingdom Came to the Villa.

It started with the daughter. She was the one who decided what the party should look like. Her parents, Freya and Andrew, were renewing their vows on their wedding anniversary in Bali, and she had a very clear idea of what that day should feel like.

A Disney princess party. For everyone.

The dress code she chose was Bridgerton. Princes, princesses, gowns, suits. Every single guest arrived in theme. The villa looked like a scene from another century, with a bouncy castle in the middle of it.

We set everything up before the guests arrived. The balloon ceremony area was dressed first. Then the cotton candy station, the chocolate fountain, the games area, the mocktail bar. The cartoonist set up in the corner with a blank pad and waited.

The day began with the vow renewal. Freya and Andrew stood together surrounded by everyone they love, all of them in gowns and suits, and said what they wanted to say to each other again. Their daughter watched from the front row in her princess dress. Balloons were released into the Bali sky when it was done.

"
There was not a dry eye in the garden.

Then the games began and the garden completely changed. Kids on the bouncy castle. A queue forming at the cartoonist who made every child look like a Disney character on paper. Cotton candy everywhere. Strawberries being dipped into the chocolate fountain by small hands that could not quite reach. The mocktail bar doing steady trade with children who ordered very seriously and carried their drinks away with great importance.

The sound of that afternoon was giggles. Just giggles and laughter and happy people everywhere you looked.

As the evening came everything softened. The table was set, the guests found their seats still in their gowns and suits, and the dinner began. The same garden that had been full of running and bouncing and squealing was now full of quiet conversation and warm laughter. The best kind of shift.

What started as a princess party became something more by the end. A day that held two things at once. The joy a child creates when she decides her parents deserve something magical, and the love two people have built together that is worth saying out loud again.

We were glad to be part of it.
